Beth Phoenix v Bobbi Billard ended in a double countout. After the match, Jillian Halls stepped out onto the stage, holding a microphone. She held the microphone to her lips, and locked eyes with Beth Phoenix.
Jillian Hall: Beth! You know why I'm here don't you? You challenged the most beautiful, talented, and musically gifted diva in the EBWF to a no DQ tag match... well, duh! I accept!
The crowd popped a little.
Jillian Hall: And for my partner...I pick... Karen Angle! See you on Aggression, sweetie!
Jillian left the stage.
Winner: Nobody
Reason: No Roleplays :(
Match #2
Karen Angle stepped out onto the stage to a mixed reaction. Melina made her way to the ring, and also received a mixed reaction. She did her usual taunts and flashy entrance, and Karen seemed less than impressed. As soon as Melina stepped through the ropes, Karen caught her with a kick to the head, and the fans applauded as the match got off to a fast-paced start. The referee managed to get the Women's Title out of the ring, and over to the time keeper. The match continued, with Melina and Karen Angle putting on a great match-up. The match was extremely back and forth and the fans didn't seem to know who to cheer for. Karen slowly seemed to get the upper hand...maybe it was because Melina hadn't seen any in-ring action for a few weeks, maybe Karen was just the better of the two. She took the women's champ down with a modified spear, then rolled her over. Karen Angle locked in the Karen Clutch, and the referee dropped to his knee's by Melina and asked her if she wanted to give it up. She shook her head no and tried to make her way to the ropes. Karen locked the hold in even more tightly, and Melina fought the best she could, but eventually had no choice but to tap. A collective roar escaped the mouths of the capacity crowd, as Melina's Women's title streak came to an end! Karen stood up, and was handed the Women's title. She held it proudly before exiting the ring.
Winner: Karen Angle.
Reason: No Melina RP.
SEGMENT
As “Hart Attack” blasts over across the arena, the crowd jumps to feet and cheers and screams as the EBWF World Heavyweight Champion, Bret “The Hitman” Hart steps out onto the entrance ramp. He surveys the arena and sees that it is a sold-out crowd as usual, as he is making his way down the ramp. He has a microphone with him, and as he gets to the center of the ring, the crowd quiets themselves, as Bret looks into the camera hanging above the crowd.
Bret Hart: You know one thing that I love about being the World Champion, is that everywhere I go, I see people wearing Wes Ikeda shirts, cheering for Bret Hart. And nowhere is this truer, than right here in Detroit.
The crowd greets Bret with a mixture of boos and cheers, but mostly cheers. Bret takes notice of some the boos, and kinda smirks a little, while tilting his head to the side, before continuing.
Bret Hart: Yeah, I can tell a couple of the people here could tell what I am getting at. You people wearing your Wes Ikeda shirts and cheering the World Champion… well, you are all a bunch of bandwagon jumpers. You are all the same kind of fans that when Shawn Michaels was Champion, you’d boo me simply to please him, and you’d reach out, just to try and touch Wes Ikeda… no one else is it as bad, as it is in Detroit… frankly, you are the fans that I don’t have anytime for, and you all make me SICK!
Now Bret was met with mostly boos, but still an echo of cheers reaches through the boos. Again, Bret notices and smiles once more.*
Bret Hart: However, you know what is different about me, than any of the other World Champions you Detroit fans so willingly follow? While you all boo me, there are still many here tonight who do cheer me. Who appreciate the Hitman for what I really am, despite being World Champion or not. Sure, some may just be Canadians who have crossed the border and come to take-in an EBWF show, but still there are many others around here, true Wrestling fans who appreciate all that I have done for this business, all I have done for this company, and all that I have done for you fans. Those are the fans who don’t buy the Wes Ikeda shirts, they’re the fans who don’t have time for his bullshit, and they’re the fans who see right through him, just like I do. Wes, you and I have always had a very clear, and very simple understanding between the two of us. We don’t like each other. For awhile, we just got by. Now, as the World Champion, I know it’s killing you, so you go and you start burning inside. I know you are going to stack the odds against me as best you can, but just like the fans who still cheer me tonight, even amongst all of these morons who need to be told who to cheer for, I am…
Revelution/Revelucion hit and the crowd went abuzz as hometown favorite Alex Shelley came from behind the curtain. They were all anticipating a comeback but he simply strutted to the ring and too a mic. He stood opposite Bret.
Alex Shelley: You think these people are sheep for supporting their hometown heroes.
Bret Hart: Heroes? Detroit wishes they had a hero. They need one.
Alex caught Bret off guard and slapped the taste out of his mouth. The crowd cheered.
Alex Shelley: Hey bitch! That's my line!
The crowd popped at the indy reference and Bret lunged at Alex as he hurried out of the ring. He shrugged his shoulders causually and waved, before speaking again.
Alex Shelley: Don't call it a comeback Bret. Just had to stop by to say hello... you know... keep you on your toes.
Bret grabbed the top rope and yelled a bunch of smack as the show went to commercial.
Match #3
Larry Sweeney v Randy Orton Cancelled.
Winner: Nobody
Reason: No RPs. Both men have been fired.
Match #4
The lights dimmed and the fans were seemingly sucked into the thick atmosphere as the Undertaker's slow methodic music started to play, and he made his way to the ring through a cloud of smoke. He slowly made his way to the ring and as always, the fans seemed somewhat in awe of him. The Undertaker waited in the ring, and after a couple of seconds Khali's music began to play. The Punjabi Giant stepped out from behind the curtain and made his way to the ring. He and the Undertaker stood opposite each other and the referee looked tiny in between them. The bell rang and the two monsters went head to head. The match was violent and full of high power moves. The two men seemed to be engaging in a constant test of strength, and the fans couldn't tell which way the match would go. It seemed experience would win out over size, as the Undertaker gained control of Khali and hit him with the snake eyes. The Undertaker dragged his thumb across his throat and the fans screamed in anticipation for what they knew was coning. The Undertaker dragged Khali to his feet, wrapped a huge hand around Khali's tree trunk like neck, and lifted the giant into the air! Taker slammed Khali down with a chokeslam, and covered him for the 1..2..3! The fans roared their approval as rhe Undertaker raised his own hands in victory.
Winner: The Undertaker
Reason: No Khali RP...where are you, Andrew? :(
SEGMENT
"Time To Play The Game" hit, and Triple H stepped out from behind the curtain with Chyna at his side. He strolled down the ramp, dressed in jeans and a black leather jacket with the sleeves rolled up over a plain black t-shirt. He had the tag team belt draped over his shoulder, and a bottle of water in hand. Once he was in the ring, he paced backwards and forwards for a moment before grabbing a microphone.
Triple H: This segment advertised as "Triple H has 2 words for Detroit". Well, I may have 2 words for Detroit, and every other city in this country, but that's not the thing on my mind right now. What's on my mind is Wrestlemania. What's on my mind is the night I become EBWF Champion once again. That being said, it seems like it's not just Bret Hart who wants to prevent that from happening. A few nights ago I found myself face to face with Jeff Hardy.
The crowd popped, but Triple H continued.
Triple H: Whatever... Kudos to Jeff for finally having the guts to show himself, but it's gonna take more than some cheap guard-rail-hopping to get my respect. Jeff's been gone from the EBWF for quite a few months, and right around MY time to shine, he decides to show his face again? I want to know just what right he thinks he has to the world title match that I earned fair and square. I want to know what right he thinks he has to get in mine and Bret's faces. The world title picture no longer concerns him, yet somehow Bret and myself are going to be competing in a ladder match? Is that a coincidence? I highly doubt it. Listen up, Jeff...you may be buddies with Wes Ikeda, but if you think you're going to weasel your way into my spotlight, you've got another thing coming. You must have seen what I did to Bret Hart a week ago, right? I laid his ass out! And come Wrestlemania, I'll have no problem bringing that sledgehammer down to the ring with me. The ladder is Bret's equalizer? Well, the sledgehammer is mine, and--
"Pretty Handsome Awkward" hit and there was a huge pop as Jeff Hardy made his way out onto the stage, microphone in hand. Triple H stopped speaking and simply stared Hardy down. Jeff smiled for a while, soaking in the crowd and the attention. He lifted the mic, but a 'Hardy' chant broke out. Still grinning, Jeff ran from one side of the stage to the other, throwing up the Gunz to an even bigger pop. Finally, the crowd quieted and Triple H was staring a hole through Jeff. Jeff Hardy: Man, I thought you'd be as happy as these people to see me back. We were never best friends, but we didn't hate each other. So lighten up, big man. I mean yea, I've been harrassing you and Bret a lot recently. But then I heard this talk of equalizers-Bret has his Ladder, you have your Sledgehammer. What about me? So let me go get mine real quick. Don't go anywhere, ok?
Jeff dropped the mic and jolted back past the curtain. He walked out slowly, holding a briefcase in one hand. Picking up the mic, Jeff started down the ramp towards the ring. He climbed the steps as the fans started buzzing, and got onto the apron. Jeff paused for a moment, watching Triple H, before climbing in. Triple H turned to face Hardy, but he didn't make a motion to attack. He just listened.
Jeff Hardy: Remember last year's Wrestlemania, H? You and I were in a match with a bunch of other guys. It had a ladder. It had a briefcase. And it had a winner: Me. So this right here, this briefcase, it's MY equalizer. It's MY way into the main event at Wrestlemania. It's my way of telling you your spotlight just got a little smaller, and your main event just got a lot more Xtreme!
"Pretty Handsome Awkward" hit once more, and Triple H stared Jeff down evilly, before breaking into a small smirk. He nodded, and Jeff returned the sly confident grin as the show went to a commercial.
Main Event
Numb/Encore hit and Shane Helms made his way out onto the stage to a great reaction. He posed with a smile as he waited for Kurt Angle to make his way to the ring. Soon enough, Medal hit and Kurt Angle stepped out from behind the curtain. Once the two men were in the ring together, the bell rang and the pair locked up. Angle had the obvious advantage as a technucal wrestler but Helms had his quickness going for him, and he managed to counter Angle's attempt at taking him down. Helms stayed one step ahead of Angle for the first five minutes or so of the match. He ran into the ropes going for a flying clothesline when he was caught in the chest by a beautiful dropkick from Angle. Helms went down. Angle went for the cover...1...2..kickout! The fans cheered as Helms fought back, and Angle caught Helms with a stuff punch to the face followed by a suplex. He went for the cover again..1...2..Helms kicked out convincingly and the fans were wholeheartedly behind him. He fought back to his feet once more and he and Kurt went toe to toe. The match wore on, but it didn't seem to slow down or become boring. The crowd were completely interested as the two talented athletes gave it their all for the chance to fight the IC Champ at Wrestlemania. Kurt threw Helms into the ropes, and Helms bounced back, knocking Angle down with a flying back elbow. He quickly got back to his feet, waited for Kurt to begin to get up and reacted quickly. He ran into the ropes, using them for leverage and hit Kurt with a running dropkick. Helms pulled Angle back to his feet, and hit him with the Vertabreaker! 1..2...3! The match was over! Helms' arm was raised in victory and he smiled widely. He hopped onto the top rope and gestured to his waist with a smile as Warfare went off the air.
Dark Match
After the show went off the air, "Our Time" hit and the fans popped at the blatant nostalgia. Triple H stepped out onto the ramp, with Chyna at his side. Hunter had his trademark water bottle in hand as they walked down the ramp together, and he did his signature taunt on the apron before stepping into the ring.
Lillian Garcia: Ladies and Gentlemen - please welcome, the 9th wonder of the world Chyna and...
Lillian grinned.
...the man with the longest enterance in professional wrestling... Tripppppplllllle H! D Generation-X!
Triple H glanced at Lillian, and shook his head with a grin. Then he looked back over to Joanie as if to ask whether she had put Lilian up to it. He reached for a microphone, and kept his eye on Lillian.
Triple H: Aww, now Lillian, you know first hand that every aspect of my performances are long...
Lillian looked slightly taken aback, but she was a good sport as always, and simply smiled at him.
Shine by Hemme hit the PA and Christy Hemme came to the ring to a nice response. She slid into the ring as Lillian introduced her as well. The room noise level decreased, and a few familiar beats filled the arena, the lights went up even brighter
Lillian Garcia: And her tag team partner... from Detroit, Michigan.... The Rebel without a Cause... Wes Ikeda!
Hunter's eyes were on the ramp, and Wes was taking his sweet time as the roof came off the place. Signs were being flashed on the screen. Most simply said 'Welcome Home'. And of course there was the most complimentary sign in wrestling, the standard huge breasted girl in the low cut top with the hige 'This is Ikeda Country' sign. Wes finally came from behind the curtain. His wrestling boots were the only thing that gave away the fact that he was about to wrestle a match. A black wifebeater and stone washed jeans completed his ensemble, and he tried not to show that he was a bit humbled by the crowd. He walked casually to the ring, and entered under the bottom rope. He grabbed a microphone. Hunter still had his. The crowd cheered in anticipation.
Wes Ikeda: Hmmm... you call this fun Hunter? What are you? A glutton for punishment?
Triple H: Now, hold up...while Joanie and myself have been known to partake in a little S&M, I'm no glutton for punishment. Besides...this is going to be anything but.
Wes Ikeda: Heh, really.... what makes you so sure of that?
Triple H: Well, quite simply...because you're you, and I'm me.
Wes Ikeda: It might do you well to put down the shovel there Trips. You're kind of digging your own grave.
Triple H: Well, they accuse me of burying just about everyone else... I might as well bury myself too.
Wes had not been expecting that and he laughed out loud before raising the mic to his lips.
Wes Ikeda: We were going to try and shoot on each other for ya, but we might as well just do the damn thing!
Triple H: Well, tell the lackeys to ring the damn bell.
The bell rang and the crowd cheered while the women were all but dismissed to their respective corners. And Wes and Hunter circled each other before locking up. They tagged Christy and Joanie in only once, and treated the Detroit city crowd to a 25 minute match. Hunter dominated most of the match which seemed only fair. Wes took the spinebuster without issue, and there was obviously no stiff shots as far as the well trained eye could tell. Wes opted not to disrespect the #1 contender by making him lay down for his spot monkey finisher, and instead did his BCW finisher, the Sit Out Full Nelson for the pin. A 1...2...3 later the match was over, and Wes climbed the turnbuckle taking in the praise from the audience. Hunter and Joanie left the ring, Christy followed soon after, and when Wes finally left the ring and found his way backstage Hunter and Joanie were still by the show table, watching playback of a tape from earlier. Wes walked up to them and hesitated for a minute. He was about to do something he'd never done before. In front of a lot of people who worked for him no less. He extended his hand, and looked directly at Hunter.
Wes Ikeda: Thanks.
Hunter eyed Wes's hand a little suspiciously, even though he knew well enough that he wasn't going to be cheap shotted. He met Wes's eyes, nodded, and shook his hand.
Triple H: No problem. And that was when that annoyingly obvious guy named Shawn Michaels came bounding from the hallway.
Shawn Michaels: There you are! You got to put that on TV. No, wait... you got to make people pay to see that. That was awesome. That was... whoa. Pay-Per-View, you got to let the whole world see that! You guys didn't miss a beat. You'd think you'd been wrestling each other for years!
Wes Ikeda: Yes, Shawn... I said thank you already.
And with that Wes gave Shawn a pat on the shoulder, and started off, but he was distracted by another thought, and turned back around.
Wes Ikeda: Oh, and I've been wrestling him up here... for about 13 years.
He tapped the side of his head, and then sauntered off for real. Shawn looked at Hunter expectantly.
Triple H: ...What? Are you surprised or something?
Shawn Michaels: That boy is getting antsy.
Triple H: It's sexual frustration.
Chyna: Is that how it works? You don't have to have one as long as you have the other?
Triple H: Exactly.
Shawn laughed. Shawn Michaels: And you just got blacklisted 'til Wrestlemania! Seriously Hunter? Why do you talk?
Triple H: To hear the sound of my own voice.
Chyna: Good, because you're the only one who's listening. Come on boys. Let's get home.
